Since 1998, FACES has been promoting international understanding through education. We began operating with the purpose of allowing professional educators to come to the United States to teach in South Carolina's public schools, allowing both students and teachers to be enriched by the experience.

FACES is a private organization headquartered in Columbia , South Carolina . We have been designated by the United States Department of State to assist qualified teachers in obtaining a J-1 Cultural Exchange visa. Visiting Teachers are charged no fee for the services we provide, which include transportation from the home country, orientation, teaching licensure and required exams, loans for car purchase, medical insurance, and continuous support throughout the school year.

We are committed to improving the quality of education in our state. We believe foreign educated teachers can be a unique and valuable resource to aid in this purpose. We also believe that the teaching profession itself benefits from interaction between educators trained in diverse techniques and informed by diverse traditions. Our successful experience has confirmed our belief that by bringing together foreign teachers, eager students, and creative schools, everyone wins.

FACES participates in and supports community activities and is an active member of the following:

• Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce

In addition, FACES is represented and active in South Carolina Association of School Administrators.
